1. Cranky Al’s

Start the day off with delicious hand-made doughnuts from Cranky Al’s. A locally famous breakfast spot, these doughnuts got some big time props when celebrity chef Alton Brown proclaimed them the best he’d had on the road in 2015.

Go shop and play at Ruckus & Glee, a locally-owned children’s toy, book and game store that believes the best way to learn about a toy is to play with it! Try out unboxed toys and games before picking out one (or several…) to bring home.

3. Hoyt Park

You’ve played inside – now it’s time for some outdoor adventures! Hoyt Park is home to the TOSA Pool and the adjacent The Landing Beer Garden, making it a perfect place for both kids and parents to have some summer fun. The newly renovated TOSA Pool features zeo-depth entry, competitive lap lanes and even a giant slide!

5. Leff’s Lucky Town

Stop at Leff’s Lucky Town for burgers on the wrap-around patio. This popular local sports bar and eatery is a great place to people-watch and try the specialty “burger of the month.”

6. The Milwaukee County Zoo

Next stop? The Milwaukee County Zoo! The zoo is one of the area’s premier family attractions, and for good reason! More than 2,500 animals representing 330 species, from bonobos to polar bears and big cats to giraffes, are housed on 200 acres of natural habitats at this nationally-recognized zoo. Make sure to check the feeding schedules to be able to watch your favorite beasts dine – you can even feed the giraffes yourself! Kids will also love educational wildlife shows like the Oceans of Fun Seal & Sea Lion Show and taking a ride on the zoo train.

7. Maggiano’s Little Italy

Finish off your day with dinner at Maggiano’s Little Italy. Located just up the road from the Zoo at Mayfair Mall, your whole family will enjoy a taste of Italy with Italian-American favorites. Let the kids slurp their noodles just this once…they’ve earned it after a long day of fun!

These fun family activities are joined by a wide variety of other great festivals and attractions.
